MINDEN, NEVADA, 5 July 2000 – Building on the experience of two previous generations of machinery balancing software and tens of thousands of service calls to balance customers’ machinery, Bently Nevada Corporation today unveiled its most powerful balancing program ever with the release of Bently BALANCE™ software. Bently BALANCE™ software incorporates an extremely graphical user interface that allows the user to simply "drag and drop" weight changes to a machine and perform "what if" balancing calculations ranging from simple to highly complex. Bently BALANCE™ software imports ADRE® for Windows* databases, and will also import data from other Bently Nevada products in the near future. Other features include the ability to calculate, use, and manage multiple Influence Vectors; the ability to manually enter data; and the ability to handle up to 16 XY measurement planes (32 channels) and up to 12 correction planes. Bently Nevada has been balancing machinery for more than thirty years – initially with paper and pencil, then with hand-held calculator programs, later with DOS-based computer programs, and today with Bently BALANCE™ software. Bently BALANCE™ software adheres to our own rigorous methods for dynamic balancing based on the fundamental concepts of Dynamic Stiffness. Since our level of rotor dynamic understanding is so strong, we've built a tool that can correctly handle even the most complex balancing situations, such as compound rotors dealing with multiple speeds or ranges of speeds under different load conditions. We have kept ‘ease-of-use’ from compromising the product’s capabilities – it has extremely broad computational power and capabilities, but is still easy to use. Bently BALANCE™ software is designed for Microsoft Windows* 9X and Windows NT* operating systems used by virtually all of our customers, and now supported by today’s notebook computer platforms.
