MINDEN, NEVADA, 9 October 2000 - Bently Nevada today announced the release of an improved version of their 11 mm eddy current proximity transducer system. The new 3300 XL 11 mm system is an updated extended-range transducer system for those applications previously addressed by the Company's 7200 Series 11 mm and 14 mm probe systems. In addition to consolidating the 11 mm and 14 mm probe sizes of the 7200 Series system into a single 11 mm package, the new 3300 XL offering incorporates Bently Nevada's latest technology. This brings numerous enhanced performance and reliability features to an extended-range 11 mm device, previously found only in the Company's 5 mm and 8 mm probes. The 3300 XL 11 mm Transducer System consists of a 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor® Sensor, a 3300 XL 11 mm probe, and a 3300 XL 11 mm extension cable. It is primarily designed for use in the following applications which may call for more than 2 mm (80 mils) of linear range:
The 3.94 V/mm (100 mV/mil) output gives the transducer system a standard linear range of 4 mm (160 mils). The transducer system also has an extended range of 4.6 mm (180 mils) for longer axial position or rod position/rod drop measurements. The probe is available in varying case configurations to permit use in applications previously designed for either 11 mm or 14 mm probe sizes, including reverse-mount applications. The 3300 XL 11 mm probe comes standard with ground-loop resistant triaxial cable. FluidLoc® probe and extension cables are also available to prevent oil or other liquids from leaking out of the machine. All connectors use ClickLoc™ technology for a consistent, reliable electrical connection. The 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor® Sensor is available in either high-density DIN-rail mount or more traditional panel mount configurations. It also has the same high level of RFI immunity achieved by the 3300 XL 8 mm System, which helps reduce installation costs. This improvement in RFI performance allows the transducer system to meet the emission requirements of the European CE mark without requiring stainless steel housings or shielded conduit. In addition, the SpringLoc terminal strips make it very easy to attach field wiring to the Proximitor® Sensor. The 3300 XL 11 mm Transducer System also has North American and European approvals for intrinsically safe applications, including hazardous area certification corresponding to the ATEX directive.
