MINDEN, 30 SEPTEMBER 2002 - Bently Nevada has released their latest addition to the Snapshot™ Series of portable data collector products. Snapshot™ Clipboard software runs on compatible pocket PCs, enabling the devices with many of the capabilities found on Bently Nevada's full-sized, full-featured Snapshot™ for Windows* CE portable data collector. It allows plant personnel and maintenance engineers to log meter and gauge readings, make inspections, and record free-hand notes which would normally be written on a log sheet, and represents a more convenient "pocket-sized" package than the full-sized data collection/analysis instrument when its capabilities aren't needed for routine data logging rounds. The software runs on a variety of off-the-shelf, low-cost, pocket PC devices that use the Microsoft* Windows* for Pocket PC operating system.

Snapshot™ Clipboard allows the user to collect data manually from a predetermined route and transfer it into Bently Nevada's System 1™ Plant Asset Management software. This supplemental machinery and plant data enables users to better determine the condition of their machinery and other assets. Snapshot™ Clipboard uses the same user interface as the full-sized Snapshot™ for Windows* CE portable data collector, offering familiarity and ease-of-use. The interface to System 1™ software is also exactly the same, providing permanent storage of all collected data and system configuration functions.

Data logged into Snapshot™ Clipboard can be uploaded and stored in the System 1™ database, and manually entered process information can be correlated with other condition monitoring data within System 1™. A built-in alarm notification indicates if the current data has exceeded a pre-determined alarm level, eliminating the need to download data to System 1™ software before identifying points in alarm, thus allowing those using the instrument to take immediate action where warranted.
