MINDEN, NEVADA, 27 June 2001 - According to a newly published list in the Nevada Business Journal, Bently Nevada Corporation is one of the state's "Best Firms to Work For." The June 2001 issue of the magazine lists 26 companies that were compiled from an online survey, the results of which "indicate that employees value opportunities for advancement, trustworthy managers, and good working relationships." Nevada Business Journal then enlisted the help of several of Nevada's staffing firms to aid in deciding the companies that are among the best places to work. Donald Bently, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Bently Nevada Corporation enthused about his company's inclusion in the list. "People are our most important asset," states Bently, "and we strive to provide a workplace where people are challenged, rewarded, happy, and productive. Inclusion in this list tells us we're on the right track." Jim Schmid, Director of Human Resources at Bently Nevada, also commented on joining the ranks of Nevada's best places to work. "Of our 5 corporate core values, 'The Strength of Our People' probably has the most potential impact on our long-term success in the marketplace. To a great extent, the corporate knowledge base resides within our people. They and they alone differentiate us from other organizations. Remembering this and providing for our people accordingly is what makes us and keeps us an employer of choice." Respondents were asked to rank in order of importance such factors as benefits, training, trust in management, and pay, among others. Management representatives from the Best Firms to Work For were also asked to complete the survey. The most important factor to both was "career development, growth, and promotional opportunities." Along with training, benefits, rewards, teambuilding, and recognition rounded out the factors considered most important to both employees and management. Bently Nevada Corporation is the world's leading supplier of machinery protection and management solutions, and maintains nearly 100 sales and service offices in the principal industrial centers of 43 countries around the globe.
