MINDEN, NEVADA, 8 August 2001 - Bently Nevada is pleased to announce the release of a new lab interface for our powerful lubrication software, Bently LUBE™. The software imports data from several commercial laboratories and the list is constantly being expanded. We've recently added an interface for Bently Nevada's sister company, National Tribology Services (NTS) of Peabody, MA. A customer-focused predictive maintenance lab specializing in industrial machinery, they offer a broad range of analysis methods designed to determine both machine and lubricant condition. NTS joined the Bently Nevada family of companies in May 2001.

"Effective management of oil analysis data is crucial to a successful machinery condition monitoring program in today's modern plant," says NTS Business Development Manager, Daniel Walsh. "Bently LUBE™ allows the customer to manage this data effectively, thus increasing the value of oil analysis as a tool for solving problems. I'm pleased that customers can how choose NTS laboratory services and Bently LUBE™ software, knowing the two are fully compatible with one another."

Proactive lubrication condition monitoring is rapidly emerging as one of the most important contributions you can make towards improved machinery reliability. The success of any lubrication management program relies heavily on effectively tracking and managing analysis data. Bently LUBE™ software is specifically designed to provide a comprehensive management environment giving users the easiest possible access to test information.

Bently Nevada is actively working on additional interfaces for other oil analysis labs in the US, and the list of supported facilities will continue to grow over the next few years.

Bently Nevada Corporation is the world's leading supplier of machinery protection and management solutions, and maintains nearly 100 sales and service offices in the principal industrial centers of 43 countries around the globe. It provides a comprehensive scope of products encompassing vibration monitoring instrumentation, software, advanced bearing designs, engineering services, lubrication condition monitoring, and fundamental rotor dynamic research - all with a common objective: helping customers protect and manage all their machinery.

National Tribology Services, Inc. is an industry-leading oil analysis lab offering a wide range of tribology expertise. Its founders were instrumental in the development and application of ferrography in the 1970s to military and industrial oil analysis. The company was formed in 1990 and has been a leader in modern approaches to condition monitoring oil analysis ever since. In 1992, NTS was the first lab to commercially apply Rotrode Filter Spectroscopy (RFS) to detect the large metal particles indicative of abnormal wear. They combined RFS with traditional spectroscopy to provide an effective screening approach for ferrous and non-ferrous particles, both small and large. The lab has considerable experience in monitoring turbines, compressors, gear systems, engines, and hydraulic systems.
